What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is about using the mind to
bring about positive changes.
What Does It Feel Like, When Under
Hypnosis?
I describe it as a bit of a dreamy state
drifting in and out.
Most of the time you will be aware of your
surroundings and what the Hypnotherapist is saying.
Three Types Of
Hypnotherapy
I personally categorise Hypnotherapy into three main sections which I term
as:
Regression Hypnotherapy
Past Life Regression Hypnotherapy
Standard Hypnotherapy.
Very basically:
Regression Hypnotherapy is about going back
to your past and unlocking negative emotions.
Past Life Regression is about sourcing any
past lives you may have had for interest and/or for finding root causes of current
problems.
Standard Hypnotherapy is more about things
such as Stopping Smoking, Fear of Flying, Nail biting etc.
Regression
Hypnotherapy
I specialise in Regression Hypnotherapy, 90% of my work is with regression
clients.
Why do I specialise in regression? Quite simply the results that can be
achieved are often just amazing. I have had numerous clients that have had a particular problem for
many years and although they tried other forms of treatment the problem was never
resolved.
After a number of regression sessions the problem was cured, their life
completely turned around, without the aid of drugs or medication. I would also like to add that
before they came to see me, most of my clients thought they would have to live with their problem
for the rest of their lives.
Regression Hypnotherapy can help with so many things, things you would may
not even consider, for example amputees. Hypnotherapy of course cannot replace any missing limbs,
but it can help to release any negative emotion attached to the trauma of losing a limb. Negative
emotions can have a devastating effect and make it extremely difficult with regards to accepting
and coping with current situations; so it is vitally important that negative emotions are
released.
If you are in the right frame of mind, that is a positive frame of mind
you are better able to cope with matters and consequently feel less stressful. A positive frame of
mind produces chemicals that are good for your mind and body, whereas a negative frame of mind does
not. The way in which Hypnotherapy can help with almost any problem is to keep the mind as positive
as possible.
Hypnotherapy, therefore, does and can help in ways you may not have even
thought possible.
Based on my personal experience, there are three very important things to
recognise, as follows:
No1:Past negative
emotions can have a devastating affect on your current life right now and in many cases you will
not even consciously be aware of them. How scary is that?
No2: Your
subconscious mind does not forget anything at all. It is all stored there, neatly filed
away.
No3: Negative
emotions do not weaken over time, they have the same devastating effect, strength and power they
had when they were first established, no matter how long ago that may be.
I often quote a client of mine who was 85 years old when she first came to
see me. This lady was totally unaware consciously, the reason why she felt and reacted in the way
she did, she had absolutely no idea. She had been feeling this way since she was about five years
old and although she had sought help over the years she could not find a cure. Finally as a last
resort she decided to try Hypnotherapy.
I used Regression Hypnotherapy, within a few sessions we found the root
cause of her problem together with the negative emotion that was attached to that problem and
released it. During the release of this negative emotion the strength, ferocity and power was just
the same as the first day it was formed, some 80 years earlier, time had shown no weakening and no
mercy.
The subconscious mind is far more powerful than the conscious
mind
Each Regression Session lasts between one and two hours.
Past Life
Regression Now, I must admit many years
ago I did not believe in this sort of thing, I was very much of the opinion that when you were dead
you were dead and that was that. How wrong can one be? Now many years later and based on my own
personal experiences as well as that of many clients who have undertaken a past life
session/experience my views and opinions have changed completely.
Of course when we die our physical bodies are dead but we are much more
than physical we are of spirit and soul, so, where do they go, what happens to them? Food for
thought!
I have never had a past life client who during the session became someone
famous or even well known, they have all been just ordinary everyday people doing ordinary every
day things, this to me makes it even more convincing. The details some clients receive are
astonishing and it is the small details that can be so convincing for example the intricate detail
of a wooden fire surround, an uneven brick floor with a loose brick that was used to hide money, a
detailed description of a property including the name and the name of the occupants the list goes
on.
Many clients check out the information they receive during a past life
regression session to find to their amazement most if not all of the information is
true.
Each past life session will be different and there is no guarantee that
you will even go into a past life or when you do you will obtain any real evidence that you can
check out later.
During the beginning of a past life session I will be directing you,
helping you to get to a certain point, but after this point the rest will be very much be up to
you; how much control you will let go of, your willingness to go completely with what you are
feeling, to accept what is going through your mind and go with it without question, with out
reasoning. Some clients find it very easy indeed other not so.
Once you are in a past life you will usually find one of three things or a
mix of all three:
In your minds eye you will be looking at what may seem like a film, with
you in it but, seeing it as a third party. You are actually reliving this past life, so you are
part of what you are seeing and what is taking place. You are unaware of anything else, you are
only aware of what is taking place right now at this very moment in this past life. You feel
emotions but do not get any visualisation of what is taking place or why you feel the way you do.
Sometimes if it is just emotion based; your mind could be just in a kind of blackness, you can see
nothing but black and this blackness is associated with this emotion. In this case very often the
blackness will fade away and the cause of the emotion be revealed.
Emotions experienced in a past life can be very strong indeed both good
and bad.
When a client is reliving a past life they are totally unaware of my
presence in the same room. Sometimes when I decide to speak the normal reaction is ‘who said that,
who are you’ I just quietly confirm who I am and everything seems to be ok again. I mention this to
demonstrate just how deeply they are involved with their past life. It is a bit like you and I
talking right now and then suddenly a voice is heard, this voice seemingly coming out of nowhere,
out of the blue, not related at all to the surroundings they feel they are in. Wouldn’t we ask,
"Who is that, who are you"?
Past life sessions can be used for purely interest or for finding the root
cause of problems that we carry around with us today.
Each Past Life Session lasts between one and two hours.
Standard
Hypnotherapy
Standard Hypnotherapy is ideal for general problems such as building
confidence, positive thinking, releasing stress, anger management, depression etcetera.
Want To Lose
weight?
Being over weight can bring lots of problems and not least many very
serious irreversible life threatening illnesses. If you are well over weight you are taking a great
risk that you may well pay a hefty price for.
Losing weight should be taken very seriously because of the very serious
consequences if you do not. In my opinion, therefore, you should undertake a professional weight
loss course. Making half hearted attempts by using so called quick fix methods or diets lead to
nowhere over the long term. It is the long term that you need to aim for if you want to try to
avoid risking life threatening irreversible illnesses, not to mention all the other disadvantages
being over weight brings.
Is being over weight simply the cause of eating more than your body needs
to survive and taking in more calories than required? If it was then reducing your food intake,
eating healthily and throwing in a certain amount of exercise as a good measure should produce a
lean, slim, healthy body, if only it was that simple! Losing weight should be easy as we are often
given the impression it is but in truth (at least in most cases) it’s not. It is often involved,
complicated and depends very much on each individual’s past experiences and character. In my
opinion, an individual approach is required, one that can be adapted to suit each individual’s
particular needs so that they are successful over the long term.
There can be many reasons as to why someone apparently cannot lose weight
and just as many more reasons as to why the weight just keeps increasing. My experience has shown,
it is not always your fault. Explanation as follows:
It is often your mind that plays the most important role when it comes to
losing weight and more often than not your mind is not involved in most weight loss methods
including diets. Your mind controls. I am sure you have heard the saying ‘You are what you think.’
I will take that a stage further and say ‘You are what your subconscious mind thinks.’ Now, it’s
quite likely that you are not consciously aware of all what your subconscious mind is thinking and
it can be thinking all sorts of things, things that could well be sabotaging all and every one of
your weight loss efforts, and if this is the case you will never win over the long term,
period!
Is your subconscious mind sabotaging your weight loss efforts? Ask
yourself the following questions:
Do I eat large portions of food, even though I know I don’t need them?
Do I constantly eat the wrong types of food, although I know I shouldn’t?
Do I continually snack, when I feel there is no need to eat?
Do I eat when I am not hungry, but feel I still need to eat?
Do I have an addiction to a particular type of food?
There are many more questions you could ask yourself but I am sure you get
the idea.
If you can relate to any or all of the above questions then there is a
strong possibility that your subconscious mind is adversely affecting your weight loss efforts by
keeping active some hidden negative emotions that stem from your past or at the very least you have
some open negative emotions that you are aware of, but that need to be released.
What Are Hidden and Open
Negative Emotions?
Hidden Negative Emotions
Negative emotions are usually established from way back in our past and
can be described as somewhere between a passing hurtful comment to a barrage of put downs by
parents, peers, school mates etc and include stressful, fearful situations and experiences. These
negative experiences can create strong negative emotions that can be still very much alive and
active in the subconscious mind even though you are consciously unaware of
them.
To some people these past issues will have little to no effect whilst
others will have a profound devastating effect for the rest of their lives until these negative
emotions are released.
For example: You have negative emotions that relate to hurtful comments
and putdowns that did have an effect on you. The result could be that you are now suffering from
low self-esteem and low self worth, which in turn could be the main reasons as to why you can’t
lose weight or in deed for gaining the weight in the first place.
How Does This Happen?
Quite simply underneath all your conscious efforts and determination to
lose weight your subconscious mind could be saying such things as; you don’t deserve to look
slim—you have no right to feel good about yourself etc. And because your subconscious mind is by
far more powerful than your conscious mind your subconscious mind will always win in the long
term.
Open Negative
Emotions
Open negative emotions are negative emotions from our past that we are
consciously aware of, but often choose to ignore because they can be too painful to recall or face.
These open negative emotions can also be the cause of your weight gain or the reason you can’t seem
to lose any weight. To rectify this problem these open negative emotions need to be released
otherwise long term weight loss will always allude you.
How can you find out if your subconscious mind is sabotaging your weight
loss efforts, and how do you go about releasing negative emotions both hidden and open? Simply by
undertaking Regression Hypnotherapy sessions
Your subconscious mind holds the key to so many things and not least your
weight. Past unpleasant, hurtful or just bad experiences or situations can (whether you are
consciously aware of them or not) play a major roll in your current actions and thinking and if
these actions are affecting your weight they need to be addressed before you undertake anything
else!
To lose weight you need a well laid out, proven attack plan that
includes
Dealing with and releasing hidden and open negative emotions.
Changing the way you currently think and feel about food.
Breaking bad food habits and replacing them with good food habits.
Releasing you from any food addiction.
Support; personal support that is, until you achieve your weight loss goal. Support can be the
difference between failure and success..
The building of your self-confidence and your self worth along the way.
My weight loss course includes all of the above, I also use specialised
sound technology that enables the changes to take place more quickly and deeply. I produce
personally recorded CDs for each client’s individual and personal needs. I also incorporate other
methods if I feel it will benefit my client such as E.F.T (Emotional Freedom Technique)
My weight loss course is adjusted for each individual client. I do not
operate a ‘one fits all policy.’ Some clients will require more time and effort on certain aspects
of the course than others, there are no hard and fast rules. For this reason it is very difficult
to place a time scale on how long it will take and how many sessions will be required. The length
of the course and how many sessions will be required is very much determined by the client and the
rate of progress being made.
I can give you an example of just how varied the time scale and number of
sessions required can be. I always start the course with Regression sessions. Once these Regression
sessions have been successfully completed (and assuming there were negative emotions to be found
and released) this sometimes can be all that is required. My client now feels and thinks
differently, their view on food has changed and changed enough to immediately stop the actions that
were creating the weight gain or stopping any weight loss. This is nothing to do with willpower, it
is something my client wants to do and now feels it is natural to do. So, it may only take a few
sessions for some clients, whilst for others it may be necessary to complete the whole course over
several months.
The course does need to be viewed as a long term commitment to be stopped
when the goal is reached. The sessions can be once a week, once every two or three weeks or even
once a month, it doesn’t really matter, what does matter is that the sessions are regular. If you
decided for instance on monthly sessions then that would cost £55.00 per month (£55.00 per session)
plus there would be an additional cost for each personal CD I produce for you ranging from £25.00
to £45.00 per CD.
An added benefit you will receive from the course is that you will begin
to feel much more relaxed and calmer within yourself and as the sessions progress you will be able
to drift into a very deep inner peace.
Stop
Smoking
I offer a Stop Smoking Course which comprises of two Hypnotherapy Sessions

EFT (Emotional Freedom
Technique)
This is an alternative to Hypnotherapy, for people who may feel better
suited to a different approach to solving their problem/s EFT could well be the answer!
EFT is a non-invasive technique that can release negative emotions and can
in most cases bring a permanent release from many physical and emotional problems in just minutes.
It is painless, has no known side effects, and at times, is little short of miraculous. Although,
the techniques used may seem a little strange at first, they are based on solid scientific
principles.
EFT works on a variety of issues
including:
Addictive Cravings: food, cigarettes, chocolate.
Anxiety and Panic Attacks.
Physical complaints including Headaches, Migraines and Back
Pain.
Compulsions and Obsessions.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Insomnia.
Pre-Menstrual Tension.
Phobias and Fears.
Personal Sports performance: enhanced performance.
Public Speaking.
So What Is EFT.
It is similar to Acupuncture, but instead of using needles EFT uses a
tapping method. Tapping on certain parts and points of your body mainly your face, hands and sides
of your body. The points being tapped are the same points used in Acupuncture.
EFT is based on the discovery, that imbalances in the body’s energy system
have profound effects on one’s personal psychology. Correcting these imbalances is done by tapping
on certain body locations, which often leads to rapid remedies. By rapid, I mean most of the
problems vanish in minutes!!!
The Body’s Energy System
Our bodies have a profound electrical nature. Any beginners course in anatomy covers this. Shuffle
your feet across a carpet and then touch an item made of metal. Sometimes you can see the static
electricity that is discharged from your fingertip. This would not be possible unless your body had
an electrical nature to it. If you touch a hot stove you will feel pain instantly because it is
electrically transmitted along the nerves to your brain. The pain travels at the speed of
electricity and that is why you feel pain so quickly. Electrical messages are constantly sent
throughout your body to keep it informed of what is going on. Without this energy flow you would
not be able to see, hear, feel, taste or smell.
Another obvious bit of evidence
regarding the existence of electricity (energy) in the body are the electroencephalograph (EEG) and
electrocardiograph (ECG). The EEG records the electrical activity of the brain and the ECG records
the electrical activity of the heart. These devices have been used by medical science for decades
and are the ones you see in TV hospital dramas hooked up to dying patients. When the screen stops
“blipping” the patient is dead.
Our electrical systems are vital to our
physical health. What could be more obvious? When the energy stops flowing – we die. Ask your
doctor about this. No one disputes it.
In fact, civilization has known about this for millennia. About 5,000
years ago, the Chinese discovered a complex system of energy circuits that run throughout the body.
These energy circuits or meridians as they are called are the centrepiece of Eastern health
practices and form the basis for modern day acupuncture, acupressure and a wide variety of other
healing techniques.
This energy courses through the body and is invisible to the eye. It
cannot be seen without high tech equipment. By analogy, you do not see the energy flowing through a
TV set either. You know it is there, however, by its effects. The sounds and pictures are your ever
present evidence that the energy flow exists.
In the same way, EFT gives you striking evidence that energy flows within
your body because it provides the effects that let you know it is there. By simply tapping near the
end points of your energy meridians you can experience some profound changes in your emotional and
physical health. These changes would not occur if there was no energy system.
Western medical science tends to focus on the chemical nature of the body
and has not paid much attention to these subtle, but powerful, energy flows until recent years.
They do, however, exist and are attracting an expanding group of researchers.
A growing number of health practitioners are finding ways to use this
vital energy system to help physical healing. Acupuncture, massage therapy and chiropractas are but
a few of them. Bookstore shelves are loaded with books on energy meridian techniques to promote
good physical health.
Dr. Callahan’s First Experience
The science behind EFT was not developed like many other discoveries. That
is, it was not created in a laboratory and then tested in the real world. Instead a stunning turn
of events in the real world pointed the way first. Here is the story:
In 1980 Dr. Roger Callahan was working with a patient, Mary, for an
intense water phobia. She suffered from frequent headaches and terrifying nightmares, both of which
were related to her fear of water. To seek help she had been going from therapist to therapist for
years, with no material improvement.
Dr Callahan tried to help her by conventional means for a year and a half.
He didn’t make much headway either.
Then one day he stepped outside the normal “boundaries” of psychotherapy.
Out of curiosity, he had been studying the body’s energy system and decided to tap with his
fingertips under her eyes (an end point of the stomach meridian). This was prompted by her
complaint of some stomach discomfort.
To his astonishment, she announced immediately that her phobia was gone
and she raced down to a nearby swimming pool and began throwing water in her face. No Fear. No
Headaches. It all went away, including the nightmares. It has never returned. She is totally free
of her water phobia. Results like that are rare in the field of psychotherapy but commonplace with
EFT.
